The Art of Effortless Power
Join Us For QiGong Movement & Meditation
Qi Gong is an ancient mindfulness movement practice that harnesses the power of breath, movement and intention to create health and balance within the body. Qi Gong practices are exercises made up of flows, postures and breath work and are based on the movements of animals and natural elements like wind, water and fire.
During a Qi Gong session, breath is slow, long and deep. Movements are gentle and smooth and are aimed at the relaxation of body and mind.
We offer a unique blend of traditional Qi Gong practices and contemporary insights to help you achieve greater physical health, mental clarity, and emotional balance.
This traditional Chinese medicine practice may boost mental health, immune function, balance, improve sleep and so much more.
Qi Gong classes are gentle and perfect for all ages and levels of experience. Our classes focus on "Spiritual Flows" that connect us to the Earth, Higher Realms and Three Treasures.
Qi Gong is pronounced "Chi Gong" and is a 3,000-year-old traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) practice that blends intentional movement, meditation and breathing practices. It’s based on the principle that we all have qi (pronounced “chi”), an energetic life force, flowing through our bodies. The belief is that qigong reduces stagnation of that energy, allowing the body to better heal itself.
If Tai Chi is hundreds of years old, Qi Gong is thousands.
Tai Chi is a specific form of Qigong that incorporates martial arts movements and sequences, while Qigong is a broader term encompassing various exercises for energy cultivation. Tai Chi is often seen as a more structured, martial art-based form of Qigong, while Qigong offers a wider range of exercises and can be adapted for different needs and abilities.
Qi Gong is the eldest therapeutic modality of Chinese Medicine and helps to balance and harmonize the body's vital energy (Qi). Medical Qi Gong is a holistic approach to healing that not only addresses symptoms, but also the causes of dis-ease to help prevent illness from ever entering into the physical body. We practice a combination of the 5 Element flows, which are part of Medical Qi Gong, as well as the Three Treasures, a highly spiritual aspect of the practice. The goal of a Qi Gong session is to relax the body, ground the mind and move "congested" emotions that might be creating disharmony in the energy body.
The Blackbird House healing center is committed to offering a wide range of practices and modalities to work in conjunction with Western medicine to create a more holistic approach to healing. We offer Qi Gong, Meditation, Reiki and more to assist in overall health and wellbeing.
